Released on Friday (March 1), the Bronx native released a fiery freestyle titled “Like What” over Missy Elliott’s iconic 1999 hit “She’s A B***h.”
“Ayo, let me put some gas in this motherfu**in’ year, bi**h/I ain’t really talked my sh*t in a minute. Like who the f**k these bi**hes really think they talkin’ to?/Like, bi**h, is you fu**in’ dumb?” announces the 31-year-old as the song kicks off.
Directed by Offset, the accompanying visual showcases Cardi B’s trademark flair for fashion and beauty. From donning a luxurious, floor-length fur coat paired with a jeweled choker and matching earrings to blinged-out eyebrows and pink eyelashes, the rapper exudes boldness and style.
This marks her first release of 2024, following her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on “Bongos” in 2023. Although the rapper has not dropped a full project since her Grammy Award-winning album “Invasion Of Privacy” in 2018, speculation suggests that her sophomore album may be on the horizon. At the conclusion of the music video, she assures fans, “This is just the beginning…stay tuned.”
Additionally, Cardi took to her Instagram story to tease the drop, showcasing a whopping 100 songs she has been working on, hinting at an imminent announcement.
