Cardi B and Patti LaBelle have teamed up, blending their respective dessert products—Cardi’s Whipshots alcoholic whipped cream and Patti’s Good Life pies—into a seasonal partnership. Despite not having met formally before, LaBelle expressed a feeling that she and the “Bongos” rapper were destined to collaborate.
“I’ve been her mother in my mind for a long time because she’s just all that and a bag of chips. And I’m all that and a bag of chips,” LaBelle, 79, tells PEOPLE of Cardi, 31.
Cardi agreed, acknowledging that their partnership was a long time coming. However, that didn’t stop her from feeling a little nervous about meeting the R&B legend.

“I got to take [inspiration] from you,” Cardi says in reference to her own line, Whipshots. The boozy whipped cream was released almost two years ago and comes in pumpkin spice, peppermint, vanilla, mocha and caramel, all of which have 10% ABV.
In the campaign teaser, a sitcom-style edit captures LaBelle warmly inviting Cardi into her home. Accompanied by cheerful music, the video features rapid cuts of the musical legends sharing hugs, raising glasses in a toast, laughing, and indulging in pie topped with whipped cream, naturally.
For those looking to experience the holiday delight, fans can pick up Whipshots and Patti’s Good Life pies at Walmart.
