Latto is attributing the division among female rap artists to hip-hop fans. In her conversation with XXL, she asserts that the rivalry among women in rap is propelled by stan culture.

In the interview, the rapper, who hails from Atlanta, delved into the conflicts between female artists.

She expressed her perspective, stating, “I think it really don’t be a problem until we let fans, Stans, whatever you want to call them, like the outsiders once they get in the mix. I think that’s what stirs the pot,” Latto said. “Because it’s like, we will all be fans of each other and commenting and following each other, whatever, but then once they get to comparing, they will turn us against each other, which is very weak-minded of us as female rappers.”

She added, “I think we be falling for these traps that they put on female rappers.”

But that’s not all, the “Big Energy” rapper gave fans insight on her music plans for 2024.

“I am dropping a project next year. Bigger visuals. Better branding. Making sure it’s my vision. I’ve had like a lot of cooks in the kitchen, but this right now, this temperature on my career is very centered around my vision, and what I want, the type of music I want to make, how I want my music videos to look. I’m like excited for the personalization of 2024 with my career.”

To close out the year, Latto has curated an all-women cypher for XXL with our favorite rap girlies.
